The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
