The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
