The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
