The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
