The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
