The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 They sat by it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
