The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 And by the Day promised, 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 when they were seated over it 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! 22
