The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 And by the Day promised, 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
