The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 By the Promised Day! 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 while they sat around it, 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
