The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 by the promised day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
