The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 by the promised day, 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 while they sat around it, 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! 22
