The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky with its constellations, 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 when they were seated over it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
