The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they sat by it, 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
