The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 when they were seated over it 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
God the Almighty always says the truth.
