The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky containing great stars 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 As they sat around it 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
