The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
