The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
