The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
