The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
