The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Almighty God's Truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
