The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
