The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
