The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
