The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
