The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 he was created of gushing water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
