The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 it is not a jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
