The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
