The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
