The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
