The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
