The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
