The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And no trifle. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
