The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is no merriment. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17

God the Almighty always says the truth.
