The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star - 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
