Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
