The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
