The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
