The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
