The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High, 1 Who created and proportioned 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 And who brings out the pasture 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden. 7 We shall ease thee unto the Easing. 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 Soon whoever fears will heed advice. 10 And the most unfortunate one will avoid it, 11 Who shall enter the great fire; 12 wherein he will neither die nor remain alive. 13 Prosperous is he who purifies himself, 14 remember the name of the Lord, and pray to Him. 15 But rather you prefer the life of this world! 16 Whereas the Hereafter is better and everlasting. 17 Verily this is in Writs ancient 18 the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
