The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Magnify the Name of thy Lord the Most High 1 who creates [every thing,] and thereupon forms it in accordance with what it is meant to be, 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 Who brings out the pastures 4 and thereupon causes it to decay into rust-brown stubble! 5 We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget, 6 Unless God may please. He knows the visible and knows what is hidden. 7 And We will make your way smooth to a state of ease. 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 But the most hapless will flout it, 11 Who will burn in the terrible Fire, 12 wherein he will neither die nor remain alive. 13 Lasting happiness will be for those who purify themselves, 14 And who remembereth the name of his Lord, and then prayeth. 15 Nay! you prefer the life of this world, 16 but the Everlasting Life is better, and more enduring. 17 This, indeed, was in the ancient Scrolls, 18 The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa. 19
