Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
