Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
