Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
