Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
