Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
