Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
