Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
