Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 laboring, wornout, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And cups put in place 14 cushions ranged, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
