Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 and couches raised high, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and outspread carpets. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
