Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In a lofty garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 with a flowing spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
